Gayle Goddard-Taylor has been a working journalist for more than
30 years, having cut her teeth as reporter, editor and cartoonist
for her high school newspaper, The Greenhorn. She went on
to write for her college newspaper at the University of New Hampshire
and ultimately landed a real-world job on the now-defunct Claremont
Daily Eagle. Starting out in obituaries, she soon shouldered
the duties of reporter, photographer and editor for three sections.
At her subsequent jobs as editor of the weekly Sentinel in
Franklin, MA. and as reporter at the 25,000 circulation Attleboro,
MA, Sun Chronicle, she covered virtually every beat imaginable
from local and state government to education, business and health.
Countless deadlines later, Gayle left the newsroom to launch a freelance
career. Her byline is frequently found in Massachusetts Audubon
Societys award-winning Sanctuary magazine, where she
can indulge her interest in nature and the outdoors, and in American
Profile, which explores life in Hometown America.
She also writes for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention
of Cruelty to Animals national publication, Animals,
on pet-related issues. On the corporate side, she has written for
the Fidelity Investments employee newsletter and for Blue Cross/Blue
Shield.
